Okta is our new single sign-on (SSO) provider. Once fully implemented, it will enable you to log in once, verify your identity, and then access all your SNC web applications (mySNC, Knightline and Workday) from a single, customized dashboard without having to re-enter your credentials.
What is the Okta dashboard?
The Okta dashboard will be your new one-stop shop for accessing all of your SNC apps. Eventually, you will also use the dashboard to change your SNC password, but for now, please continue to use the SNC password change page.
How do I log into the Okta dashboard?
Go to https://sso.snc.edu to see all of your apps in one place. Use your SNC email address, password and multi-factor authentication (MFA) to sign into the Okta dashboard. If you still need to activate your account, refer to this article: Activating your Okta account
How do I activate my Okta account if I don’t have a smartphone and cannot download Okta Verify?
Most users won’t see any apps until after December 7th, 2022. Simply getting to the Okta dashboard is all you need to do at this time. Please continue to watch your email for updates.
Do I have to use the Okta dashboard to access my web applications?
No! You can continue to use the links and bookmarks that you’ve always used to access your apps. Okta will ask for your username, password and require multi-factor authentication (MFA) as necessary. That said, we think Okta is a great way to keep track of where to find everything SNC, since it will soon be an all-inclusive list, and it’s always kept up-to-date. Give it a try by visiting https://sso.snc.edu!
Why does my Okta session expire but some of the apps are still open?
When you’re logged out of your Okta session, Okta doesn’t automatically log you out of your applications. Your apps have their own session lifetime which they determine, or you can manually log out of them when you’re finished.
