Hyperlinks play a key role in guiding students to important resources, assignments, and external content within a Canvas course. However, broken or outdated links can lead to confusion, missed information, and a frustrating learning experience. Regularly checking and updating hyperlinks ensures that your course remains accessible, functional, and easy to navigate.
To validate they hyperlinks in your Canvas course, complete the following steps.
1. Navigate to your Canvas dashboard and click on the course you wish to validate hyperlinks in.
2. Click on "Settings" found on the blue side navigation on the left hand side of the page.
3. Click on "Validate Link in Content" found on the right hand side of the page.
4. A page will load that shares how many broken links and/or images are found within the course. To fix the link/image, click on the title or the hyperlink to be take directly to the item that needs to be updated.
Once you update the content, you can come back to this page and "Restart Link Validation" to check that it has been properly updated.
